The People Of CMAG

When you consider contracting CMAG, you'll want to know a bit about the people behind the scenes that make CMAG much more than a technology-driven communications company.

Mark Stevens, President and Founder

With a total media and communications background spanning over 30 years, starting in junior high school, Mark took up photography and worked for the school newspaper learning composition and manual page layout skills. After school, he entered radio broadcasting and spent most of the next 20 years working as an on-air announcer and producer of commercials and programs. During that time, he also took breaks to work in sales and marketing, becoming an award-winning salesman and sales manager in the insurance industry, but media work was always his first and true love.

Eventually, Mark travelled across Canada, working in broadcasting and consulting various small businesses on marketing and sales. In 1996, he brought together the decades of experience into a single enterprise and CMAG was launched.

Jason Boon, Programmer and System Administrator

Jason joined CMAG fresh out of college. With diplomas in Marketing and Accounting, Jason's path to computer wizard was anything but a straight one, but seems to be his true calling. An avid and experienced photographer, Jason has contributed significantly to CMAG's early years as media producer, administrator, photographer and chief technologist. With a background in computer programming that began as a teenager, when CMAG clients began requesting software enhancements for the web sites we were producing, Jason re-kindled that computer porgramming interest and was instrumental in choosing the Java platform for our subsequent software projects. Jason keeps his photography and layout skills in tune by contributing to client projects as time and the need arise, most times he is camped in front of a computer somewhere making sure CMAG technical infrastructure is running properly.

Russ Jackson, Publisher and Operations Manager

Russ has a background in technical production and joined CMAG in the early days with his skills as a web site publisher. Active in editing HTML since the very first version of the language, Russ ensures that all client web sites are of commercial quality, meaning that they display properly in all browsers on all computer platforms. Many times this requires hand coding, something that is a bit of a lost art in todays WYSIWYG editor world. Because he is, by nature, a highly organized person, Russ is a natural to look after CMAG operations, making sure that facilities are up-to-date and production processes are running smoothly.

Beyond this core, CMAG relies on a variety of sub-contractors to deliver the complete results our clients rely on. Technology is a BIG part of what CMAG does, but the people are what keeps it happening.
